Will be highly entertained It s a fun read though with a slightly limited interactive structure Midnight Arcade Fantastic FistMotown by Gabe Soria is part of a series of interactive gamebooks where the reader influences which direction the plot goes In this case you play the part of a protagonist who travels into a part of town they ve never been to before and while there they encounter a place called the Midnight Arcade Inside you are given the option to play one of two arcade machines you can try the other one afterwards if you finish the first game This leads you into a narrated adventure where periodically you are asked to decide which button to push or which way to push the control stick on the arcade cabinet In theory this sounds like a really neat idea but in practice it is a little lacking Whereas other gamebooks often allow. Adventure series Midnight ArcadePresented with a magical game token you select one of two games you wish to play Fantastic Fist or MowTown In Fantastic Fist you fight goons and cr.

I love the type of stories where you CHOOSE in your own way but this one s about arcade games and some video game action Gabe Soria has found a fun way to combine gaming with reading The adventure begins when you take a subway to the end of the line and that s when things get a bit bizarre Soon you find yourself in the dark creepy basement of an arcade A teenager with glowing eyes shows you 2 games Fantastic Fist and Mowtown Now it is time to choose Both games offer excitement and peril Yes sometimes you don t make it out alive Overall it is a fun reading ride though the stories are on the simple side One downside is that some of the vocabulary is a bit advanced for mid grade readers ie cacophonous bucolic etc It is never a bad thing for students to learn something new but they might not stick with the book to the end If they do they. Upon entering a haunted arcade in an abandoned basement storefront the reader finds themself absorbed into one of two video games in this third title in the paperback play your way.

Multiple paths to an objective or sometimes even wildly different endings this book and possibly the others in the series only has two actual outcomes on most choices you make in the book so out of anything from 5 to 7 choices each time generally only one will allow you to progress whereas the others are either instant death or tell you nothing really happens so try again There s no real penalty for dying as you can just choose continue to keep going So if the interactivity is so lacking why have I rated the book decently Its actually ite well written though definitely aimed at a younger audience I think a young reader would still get alot of joy out of reading this book Just be careful though if your child or young adult or adult is already into gamebooks in a big way they may find this one not ite as interactive as they would like. Ooked cops to rescue your partner taken from you in the middle of your wedding In MowTown you mow lawns with a vengeance establishing yourself as the hot new lawncare mogul in town.
