The kids react Once it gets to snack time hopefully someone would be asking about it still and that when I will introduce the story and start reading it For Preschool and Kindergarten I would emphasize the actions that Klondike Hunter Killer (Pike Logan didn t follow the rules and therefore it effected someone else s life and made them have a baday but when you apologize and take accountability for your actions you can learn from them I would use this book as a learning activity for how to follow rules why it s important to how your actions can effect other people In first grade I would actually bring up the terms cause and effect and it would be towards the end of the year when the students would be learning cause and effect Klondike Do Not Eat Those Cupcakes by Amanda Driscoll is a really enjoyable and fun way to teach children the valuable lesson of waiting and being patient even if it seems impossible In this story Klondike is faced with the struggle of having to resist eating the cupcakes that were for his sisters birthday party He is offered with several solutions on how to resist this temptation but eventually he gives in and eats them all Klondike realizes his mistake and how Brazen and the Beast (The Bareknuckle Bastards, disappointed his sister would be if sheid not have cupcakes for her party so he makes her some cupcakes The illustrations added to the words with lots of punctuation and bolded letters make this story a really fun and interesting read especially for younger students The bright colors and great illustrations just add to the story that is already very exciting Although I thought reading this story was very enjoyable and that kids would love it I thought it was missing something very important I think that this story had a great opportunity to really teach the lesson of patience but instead Klondike was impatient and never really received any punishment for eating the cupcakes I think it may have been beneficial to add a section of this story explaining to Klondike why he should have waited In the end he The Friend Zone does the right thing and makes cupcakes for his sister but I think could have been added to really get the message across to young children Still I think the story was light hearted and enjoyable for younger students probably around first or second grade Klondike Do Not Eat Those Cupcakes is a cute story about a seal named Klondike having to wait to eat cupcakes for his sister s birthday party The story is written in second person which allows for some funny interactions between Klondike and the narrator In this story the narrator tries toistract Klondike from eating the cupcakes in various ways Unfortunately the narrator cannot stop Klondike While I really enjoyed the story I think it could have had a better message Klondike ends up eating the cupcakes after being told not to several times but he Flying Scotsman Manual does not seem to face any conseuences Klondikeoes make it up in the end by making a new batch of cupcakes for his sister s birthday party But I think this teaches that its ok to not wait just make up for it later I think the lesson should have been about being patient But at least it Alpha (Shifters, did try to teach that you need to take some responsibility for your actions I absolutely loved the illustration in this book I thought the pictures were very cute and each animal was adorable The way the pictures show what Klondike isoing is also very cute The way the illustrations flow really help tell the story I think the pictures help create the story and without them the story would feel incomplete At the end of the book there is even a recipe for cupcakes I think this cute little edition will make kids want to create their own cupcake. Rm tacos instead of cupcakes unfortunately seals like Klondike are big fans of tubeworm tacosAlas these tactics are no match for Klondike's love of cupcakes It isn't long before he caves to his cravings and it looks like the party will be cupcakeless Will he be able to whip up a new batch in timeA picture book treat Kirkus Review.

E s mother made cupcakes for his sisters birthday He really loves cupcakes The entire book is written in the perspective of the reader telling Klondike to not eat the cupcakes Towards the end Klondike ends up eating all the cupcakes and he has to learn his lesson by making cupcakes At the end he finally was allowed to eat the cupcakes he made because his sister had arrived I love this because it allows the reader to feel interactive with the character It also provides the lesson of patience The students will learn that if they are not patient then there are conseuences like having to make cupcakes The illustration created a lot of fun for this book as well as it shows Klondike so excited to see the Whalerider delicious looking cupcakes with pink fro Starting with the cover it is already extremely cute illustrations and has very bright and joyful colors Then on the inside cover it shows little pictures of Klondike getting ready for a party with other seals that seem to be her family There is an invitation to a birthday party that clues you into what the plot of the book could be These context clues can be used by students to predict what the story could be about The narrator of the story is inirect communication with Klondike but Charlie Turns Into a T-Rex doesn t seem to be a character of the story Perhaps it is his conscious or something Either way it is very fun and immediatelyraws you into the story There are never any speech or thought bubbles from Klondike himself however the responses of the narrator cue you into what he is thinking or saying This could be used to create a cool writing assignment where the students have to write what they think Klondike is thinking or saying for each page Throughout the book Klondike is trying to wait until his sisters birthday party in order to eat those cupcakes he tries to keep himself Graphic Design For Everyone distracted until he just can t any and ends up eating them all Then after realizing how upset it made his sister he makes himself out of love for her It is a very sweet book but honestly lacksepth The illustrations are so cute and make the book very easy to follow but there isn t really a lesson or point to the book It is a cute book for really young children too I guess it could be used to teach about patience Authorillustrator Amanda Driscoll s latest charming picture book explores how very very very hard it is for little people well all of us really to wait And how important it is to make amends when you fail Children and parents alike will adore the saga of this weak willed seal A complete Considering Kate (The Stanislaskis, delight complete with a recipe for chocolate chip cupcakes Klondike approved The story is taking place at a house and in the in pages you can see that they have an invitation to a princess birthday party The characters of this book are named Klondike seal his mother seal his little sister seal guardog bruiser and the magician that came to the party polar bear When you start reading the story you soon find out that the invitation is for Klondike s sisters birthday party and in the kitchen are cupcakes that aren t supposed to be eaten till the party Klondike wants one soooo bad and after waiting what seemed like forever he couldn t wait any longer and ate the cupcakes the effect of that action left his sister without any for her party so he made some for his little sister and thats how the story ended I would read this in grades Pre K through first grade and teach cause and effect with my students I think I would bring cupcakes in and see how many minutes it takes for the students to ask about them and then give each student one but say they can t touch it and go on with the Sweetland day and see how. Dike's sister is having a birthday party and everything is ready the only thing that's left too is wait until it's time to eat the birthday cupcakesBut Klondike REALLY loves cupcakes And waiting is SO hard The narrator tries everything to keep him from eating the treats from istracting him with a magician to visualizing tubewo.
