Enly Kelly is sent to fill in for him and keep the hotel running But she uickly comes to realise that all is not as it seems and it s possible he was murdered With a little help from a Wild Nights with Her Wicked Boss group of elderly amateur sleuths she starts her own investigation and as she digs she finds herself the target of a desperate criminal It s difficult to review and rate cozy mysteries They all follow a set of rules and authors break them at their peril Murder at Redwood Cove is fairly typical in that sense There is nothing in this book I found particularly surprisingexcept the villain I have to be honest nine times out of ten I pick the baduy very early in the book but not here I was completely blind sided So an entertaining cozy mystery which would normally rate 3 stars Midsummer Night (Lady Julia Grey, gets an extra star for keeping meuessing to the end Dollycas s ThoughtsKelly Jackson is an executive administrator of Resorts International That means when needed she travels to a resort property to troubleshoot the problem and fill in where necessary She is sent to the Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast in Northern California when the manager is found dead at the bottom of a cliff The police have determined that it was an accident but The Silver Sentinels do not agree This Always You group of senior citizens think their friend Bob was murdered They draw Kelly into their confidence and she wonders if they are right When she is attacked she knows that wasn t an accident so maybe Bob s fall wasn t either So in addition to stepping into Bob s shoes at the BB she finds herself nosing around to find his killerKelly Jackson is a very engaging character Her boss believes all the employees at all their resorts are family That is just how Kelly treats everyone she meets at Redwood Cove BB From Helen the cook and her son Tommy that leave in a smalluest house on the property to Daniel the handyman along with his daughter Allie and all the wonderful Silver Sentinels she treats them all as Wild at Heart (Sons of Chance, genuine friends I liked them all tooI loved Fred Tommy s adorable basset hound There is a heartwarming back story on how they came togetherThe setting is absolutelyorgeous and Kelly has a wonderful view from her room Even the morning fog sounds absolutely delightfulIt seems that Bob Phillips was an extraordinary man with a big heart He was very eco conscious and believed in protecting all parts of the environment Could this have Lucy Carmichael gotten him killed The story takes several twists as Kelly tries to eliminate suspects This twists were very well written The ending was full of suspense and a complete surpriseThe characters are what really stand out to me in this story From youngsters to oldsters they are an amazingroup I want to pack my bags and head for the Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast and meet up with them today There should be any trouble there right Well I will be starting the next book in the series right away I will keep you posted Kelly Jackson has flown into a small town in Mendocino County to run a bed and breakfast for her boss The previous manager fell to his death off a cliff and Kelly uickly begins to wonder if it was murder As strange events start happening Kelly is certain of her conclusion But can she prove it before something else bad happensThe book doesn t waste much time debating whether a murder happened or not instead spending time on Kelly trying to prove it There s plenty to keep you reading to find out exactly what is oing on The characters are super strong and I fell in love with them The suspects were a tad weak but that s a minor complaint The writing needed a bit polish near the beginning but again that s a minor complaintRead my full review at Carstairs Considers. Another body turns up Kelly has her hands full with overseeing the BB’s annual Taste of Chocolate and Wine Festival but she’s also closing in on the killerwho’s ready to send Kelly on her own permanent vacation.

On and who wouldn t want to o to such an event The setting is described so well you d love to book in for your own stayShe has a One-Click Buy great writing style keeping you turning the pages and finding yourself really caring about their communityWith many thanks to Net Galley for a copy of this book Murder at Redwood Cove by Janet Finsilver was areat introduction for me to this authorKelly Jackson was a very relatable character and I totally enjoyed Redeeming Claire getting to know her throughout this book She s smart and independent with a big heart I found the corpration that Kelly works for to be fascinating because I have never heard of a resort company that actually cared about their employees as depicted in this book What a lovely place to work in the real world The supporting characters also won my heart especially the Silver Sentinels I look forward to learning about Daniel and Allie and Helen and Timmy as this series progresses The plot was smoothly written with areat description of Redwood Cove It sounds like a place that I would love to visit I enjoyed the twists so I never really Return to Willow Lake (Lakeshore Chronicles guessed who the baduyguys were until the reveal I will definitely be looking for the next book in this seriesI received an ARC from NetGalley and Kensington in exchange for an honest review This review is strictly my own thoughts regarding this book 15 starsThe story wasn t too bad it was just that the writing needed a lot of work Awkward dialogue repetitiveness choppy sentences There was a character who was supposed to have a thick Russian accent but the way he talked was like that of a caveman Had the writing been improved the book still would have Fractured Memory gotten no then 3 stars There was nothing new and it followed the same formula and had the same tropes in all cozy mysteriesI didn t buy Kelly s reason to investigate the murder She came off as a busybody not a sleuth There is a difference I felt she used the BB s reputation as an excuse just to pry into everyone s business And the romance was so stiff and forced Kelly Jackson has been sent as an interim manager at Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast in Northern California The previous manager was found dead at the bottom of a cliff The report was it was an accidental fall Upon arrival she had an employee stop at the site to look at where the fall occurred It looked like an unlikely area for an accidental fall Kelly overhears talk from aroup that calls themselves The Silver Sentinels They are retired and they were the first start the talk of murder rather than accident They meet at the Redwood Cove Inn and Kelly listens to their discussions They plan on doing their own investigation as they have solved other crimes beforeThe strength of the book for me was the characters Kelly is very likable She is level headed and independent She is still finding her way into her niche in life She is very caring and thoughtful to the people and staff around her Tommy and his basset dog Fred also add to this book Tommy is a very smart little boy who has problems socializing with his classmates due to being different Fred is his Bassett dog who was being trained as a cancer detecting dog but was dropped from the class Tommy s mother Helen cooks meals and makes food baskets for the customers Oh how I would like Helen to make a breakfast for me These are just a few of few of the enjoyable characters in the book Another thing I liked was this wasn t a padded mystery to ensure 300 pages It was under 200 pages and had a very complete and tight mystery It was a fast and entertaining cozy mystery read I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series When the manager of Redwood Cove Bed Breakfast dies sudd. Lips did plunge off the cliff to his deathand Kelly’s starting to think it may not have been an accident Bob’s retired friends The “Silver Sentinels” are also on the case especially when Kelly is attackedand.
