Virginia Kantra: Forgotten Sea

Ose to not follow the Rule become flyers and live n their An Eastern Orthodox Response to Evangelical Claims own hiding from demons and the Guardians Lara has always followed the Rule and strives to be a strong Seeker for her people One night she has a dream that leads her to Norfolk Virginia and to Justin who might be a Nephilim This chance meeting changes everything Lara knows and sends her and Justinn a journey to find The Claiming of the Shrew out just exactly whor what he isI was very excited when I got this book a read what it was about because I had just told a girlfriend I wanted to read a book about mermaids but I m getting a head Summoned of myself Forgotten by Sea was is the first book I ve read by Virginia Kantra and I plann reading the rest f the books in her Children f the Sea stories Since I hadn t read any f the previous books in the series it took me a couple f chapters to really figure Baghdad, Mon Amour: A Journey of Exile and Return out exactly what was goingn especially since I was expecting the book to be about merepeople and it started with fallen angles From what I could gather this was a much different setting from the Dead Inside other books in the seriesI liked this book a lot and was so happy with the last two thirdsf it The first third f the book takes place with Lara finding Justin nly to discover he is Other and then having to bring him to the Nephilim s compound called Rockhaven At Rockhaven we meet the The Taste of Spruce Gum other Nephilim and the Guardians I disliked every single Guardian so much so that if the entire book had taken place at Rockhaven I wouldn t have finished it I understand the need for the story to go to Rockhaven so Lara and Justin could runff together and start their journey but I just felt like there was no explanation to why almost all the Nephilim were complete jerks I felt like there were a lot f things in the story that could have been explained and I still have uestions about some parts f the story that I don t think would be answered She Stoops to Conquer of I read the earlier booksAfter Lara and Justin escape Rockhaven and setff to find Slow Getting Up: A Story of NFL Survival from the Bottom of the Pile out who Justin really is the story gets much better I really liked Justinr Isetyn as he wants to be called when his memories start coming back I liked that he gradually started to remember his past and isn t just hit Orb over the head and wakes up remembering everything The romance that develops between Lara and Isetyn is very cute and sweet The chemistry between makes for some very steamy chapters and also some very touching moments I think I actually said Aaaahhhhut loud The Dandy and Lady Penelope oncer twiceI was kinda hoping to get to know the characters a little better then I did I feel because f the focus is n Isrtyn we get Multi-Family Therapy of his back story and get a better understandingf who he is and who he was With Lara it s vaguely described how and why she fell from Heaven that she was abused in some sort National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America, 7th Edition of way as a child after she fell and for some reason which we are never told why the leaderf Rockhaven Simon wants her I really felt that I would have liked the story and especially Lara if I could have had answers to these events and peopleI gave this book 3 ut f 5 because I liked the story but I didn t LOVE it I felt that a lot f the plot could have been done with detail and much backgound information I felt like we were giving an uter layer A History of Prophecy in Israel, Revised and Enlarged of the characters and the plot and I wanted to know so much then I was told I did really enjoy the scenes with thether children Think good thoughts about a pussycat of the sea and I really love the ideaf the finfolk and the merefolkThe romance between Lara and Iestyn is very well written and will keep you turning the page I am defiantly going to read the rest One, Two, Three Me of the books in this series but I think Forgotten Sea could defiantly be readn it s wn with no problem Good book to what I hope is a great series another wonderful read from Virginia Kantra Sweet hot and satisfyingly romantic I won a personalized copy f this from Virginia Kantra s blogForgotten Sea is book five in Virginia Kantra s The Children Sex and Lust in Tijuana: Vol. 1 only a sparkI find myself having the hardest time decidingn how to rate this book It was a good book with all the elements necessary that make a great PNR It just didn t do it for me I m not sure why I liked it but it was just OK in my The Whistle Pig opinion I think it was me though The cover is great and the storylinef children f the sea isn t verdone There aren t a lot f SelkieMerfolk books ut there not like vampires and shifters There was some heat to it and the love scenes wer. So I came to the last book Rufus of the series and had that usual booklover sensef dread and anticipation because this was it How would the series end and important would I be satisfied Well let s just say that I thought this was an all new characters story until a surprise twist tied it right in and gave a story that I didn t even realize that I was missingForgotten Sea is the fifth f the Children f the Sea stories and it definitely doesn t make for a good standalone for the ties to several threads in the story to make senseLara Rho is a Nephilim a fall angel You Are a Miserable Excuse for a Hero!: Book One in the Just Make a Choice! Series or air elemental She was rescued by another fallen angel and given refuge in his well warded school where fallen angels and half angelsf their kind are brought for protection and training Laura trained as a Seeker ne who goes ut and finds these that are in danger from the demon children Women and Social Work: Towards a Woman-Centered Practice of fire and need to be brought in On her first assignment she is drawn to a beautiful carefree sailor Justin Miller who turnsut to be well not an angel He s fascinating and nothing like those back at her home where following the rules and trying to achieve higher knowledge is important than free choice and following the heartJustin thought he was human and remembers nothing before seven years previously when he was rescued from a shipwreck as the nly survivor but now he s expected to believe that he s not human and Lara is a real angel Of course the fire demon attack and the surge f power in him proves her right and they end up The Cowboys on uite the adventure trying to get him some answers Meanwhile he holds Laura at arm s length because he doesn t believe he has it in him to do a long term relationshipIt was great to get a story that involved the air elementals and learning about them after the earlier books mentioned them asne Sins of Treachery of the four elemental races I also enjoyed learning the twistn Justin s life and the situation for Lucy and Conn The fire elementals and some thers make things get pretty exciting for Lara and Justin They have a romance n the run even though both are in denial and don t think it will work and until they get all the answers this is pretty much trueBut as much as I liked this My Grandfather's Prison: A Story of Death and Deceit in 1940s Kansas City one and devoured it uickly I felt it was sadly under developed If this is was meant to be the last book in the series let s just say it was a fail Too much was left up in the air for the series story arcs But I got the feeling it was meant to be a longer series and for whatever reason was stopped suddenly So I ll just wish that maybe nearly a decade later we can get anotherneUnfortunately that was not the nly under developed part This romance and I do mean talk f love and forever took place in three days And right up until the last Whos Next? Guess Who! of the third day there was little than sexual attraction between them unless you count mutual life saving and sharing backgrounds with assurances that neither wanted long term Don t get me wrong I wasn tpposed to them being together and wanted that but I just wasn t feeling it based n what was thereThis story had a lot going n between the previous plot threads carrying Papi's Gift over the introductionf the Nephilim ngoing demon threats the romance and facing up to their pasts For example Lucy and Conn loose their baby and their relationship is drifting apart It gets maybe a total f three Flash Fiction Forward: 80 Very Short Stories or four pages when this is a major thing that seems to be mentioned in passing All the threads tugging at the whole made for each thread to get stretched thinn development So while I could get グライネリエ 1 [Grainerie 1] on board with the characters their situations and the action element I really needed to see a great deal development and a little evidencer time for a true romance to develop Just too much and needed pages I m saddened that I had to feel like this for the last book that has been published in this series I still think the series is well worth ther paranormal romance fans to pick up especially if they like spicy hot romance and a uniue worldbuilding with great characters Review f Forgotten Sea by Virginia Kantra 3 ut f 5 He was shaken Changed She had changed him Lara s kiss soft lips warm breath her life her strength in him had ripped through him with the force The First Socialist Society: A History of the Soviet Union from Within of a tornado churning him to the depths he floundered in a seaf memory and desire at the mercy The Coming Revolution in Youth Ministry of his dreams a playthingf the waves a prisoner File Under: Arson of hiswn mind Justin has no memory Wicked Sense of his past except for the last seven yearsf his life All he knows is that is he is most at home when by the sea so he makes a living working n boats and traveling the world never uite fitting in and always feeling as if something is missing Out f the blue Lara Rho approaches him asking for a date Little does he know that she can help him discover all that he has forgottenLara Rho is a fallen angel a Nephilim and a Seeker for the children Powerless Against You of air As a Seeker it is her job to findther children f air before they are found and destroyed by children f fire The children f air strive for the perfection that they had before they fell and follow the very strict Rule f their Guardians Those who cho. E well written Like I said it had all the necessary partsI think I ll have to give it a four because I know it was a good book My radar must just be ffFavorite lineSometimes you didn t need words and guarantees Sometimes ne look said everything and an act ne gesture f faith was enoughLook for my reviews The Heretic's Handbook (Kindle Single) on I liked thisne as much as the Blue Guide New York others Got to meet another groupf elementals the fallen Children f Air I enjoyed getting a glimpse f several prior characters My Monsieur de Saint-George: Virtuoso, Swordsman, Revolutionary: A Legendary Life Rediscovered only issue It didn t feel like a last book Yes some things were resolved JustinIestyn gets his memory backreunites with his family But the underlying story from all 5 books the war with the Childrenf FireDemons is not resolved Iestyn has been missing for seven years ever since demons destroyed Sanctuary He has had amnesia and a pull towards the sea until fallen angel Lara finds him and her presence brings back his memories He finds himself his family and love with Lara within a week Garden of The Gods of knowing her Good continuationf The Children f The Sea series Forgotten Selkies NO Hello Fallen AngelsI don t know what happen with this story but I felt like the book was rushed to get the story ut The plot and build up The Fruits of Graft: Great Depressions Then and Now of the story was too short like the author was searching for the adventure to get to the endf the story I liked the Fallen Angel Lara Rho s back ground and the fact that there is a society f fallen angels ut there with different powers etc However what I didn t understand is why Justin took so long to find his people after the ship wreck I don t think the connection between Lara and Justin was justified correctly I mean sure they made Musical Mathematics: On the Art and Science of Acoustic Instruments out and had the hots for eachther but with them being Goig on the run it was like their getting to knowne another and spend uality time with each Where Alligators Sleep other was short lived and then allf a sudden they were in love I kept waiting for the Fallen Angel Group to come together and help Justin and the Saraswati Park other Selkies but that never happened Honestly I love Virginia Kantra s writing but this book was just average for me I didn t hate it but wasn t madly in love in awe with it either like I was with thether booksEven the prior characters from the Ten Weeks with Chinese Bandits other books missed their connection in this story it was like they were strangers until the end I think Con shouldf been the ne searching and finding Justin r even rescuing himIt would be interesting though now to see if the Author will continue the Children Young And Naive, Wasted Years of the Sea seriesr start a spin Ebekulak off from it to introduce these new Fallen Angels with all their powersRegardless I m still a big fanf Virginia Kantra Forgotten Sea is Iestyn s story We know that Conn the sea lord sent the children away Israeli Soldier Girl on a boat when Sanctuary was attacked and that the ship wrecked with them never foundLara is a fallen angelchildrenf air who is now working as Seeker trying to find fallen like herwho fell for interfering and take them to Rockhaven a school for people like them The school has been a haven for her after she fell and was violated She thinks she has found Understories onef them but can t be sure The guy is Justin and is working Commissar on a boat she invites him for a drink but when she touches him she realizes she was wrongShe leaves him bututside she and her partner are attacked by demons and Justin comes to rescue and is injured Lara takes him to the school knowing that she is breaking the rules I found the Guardians irritating and not at all good at first Lara was still that girl who listened to people at higher position than her but then she rebels she gives him a knife and when he escapes and comes to her door to tell her to help him she doesJustin doesn t know his past He Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook only remembers that past seven years andnly the sea makes him comfortable He doesn t believe Lara s talk f magic and at first but being in contact with her brings back his memories that he is Iestyn a child f the sea but he is not sure he can go back since he thinks everything was lost seven years beforeThey escape The Firebrand Legacy outrunning demons Lara has a problem with sex but with Justin she feels comfortable The book was enjoyable nothing that great but not bad as wellview spoilerMyne problem with the series is that it instead Making Instruments Count of painting a rosy picture as is the case in romance it doesn tthe characters we meet in novellasf this series die and the heroes are not very heroic maybe it is because they are not human but still hide spoiler For those who like a paranormal that s The Kangaroo Pouch: A Story About Gestational Surrogacy For Young Children on the light side Kantra s The Childrenf the Sea are perfect Even for those who don t really like paranormal could read these stories Forgotten Sea is about a fallen angel and Justin a man that s then he appears What you ll have to read the book to find ut The bond between Lara and Justin happens uickly even if they don t understand it at first That bond will get them though some tough times in the coming days This is a wonderful story that makes you want to keep reading until you get to the end I also enjoy the see past characters Was an k book but certainly not up to some f the books from this author that I have rea. Don't know kills them both A passionate journey f discovery Pursued by Lara's colleagues and hunted by demons the two set ut n a journey into their darkest fears and deepest desires Together they have powers neither imagined But when Justin discovers his merfolk past will he turn his back n his true natureor his newfound lo.
